Robert Covington 18 Points/5 Steals/3 Blocks Full Highlights (8/31/2020)

Robert Covington played some defense this game. Normally, this wouldn’t be something I would take notice of, but you guys are in luck: he played the type of defense that showed up in the box-score and thus was able to be recognized by me.

There’s a very real chance that Covington played additional defense in a way that did not show up in the box-score. In fact, it’s likely. I can just imagine him locking down Chris Paul a couple of times, but if all that happens when he does that is that Paul has to give up the ball and go sulk and pout, I’m not going to notice. So if you want a video that really shows Covington’s defensive prowess, you’re going to have to look elsewhere. Actually, you might have to make it yourself, because, while I’m not totally up-to-date on the state of NBA highlights on YouTube, there’s probably not a defense-focused DTB equivalent out there.

If there is, and you are them, I’m sorry for not noticing your existence, but remember, I don’t care about defense AT ALL. Not even a little bit. Never have, never will.

Covington somehow combined a sterling defensive effort with a good amount of points, which is the real reason this vid exists. I don’t know how the Rockets managed to lose when they had Harden doing his thing, Westbrook returning, and Covington playing both ends at a high level, but they did, and I know exactly what ZaZa Pachulia is screaming into his microphone right now.
