Tyler Herro, with his low-scoring but nonetheless stat-stuffed statline of 12/11/9, was one assist short of the fabled trippy-dubby. Think about how bad the internet would be freaking out right now if he had gotten that tenth assist. The fawning comments would be so over the top as to be embarrassing. I’ve even come up with some over-the-top comments of my own, and, upon re-reading them, they’re embarrassing as heck:
“This young man just got a triple double in his first conference finals game. Such poise and sizzle by the rookie.”
“The Heat are set for life with Andre Iguodala and Tyler Herro manning the fort. Herro is such a stud.”
“herro is the next lebron heat haters real quiet now [laughing-crying emoji x5]”
“Imagine passing Herro in the draft. A lot of GM’s are getting fired this off-season.”
“Herro is a future superstar. Insane game by the rookie. Completely embarrassed Tatum and Brown.”
“The Celtics have no answer for this guy. Simply no answer. He can beat you in every way.”
Instead of those choice quotes from exuberant Heat fans, we get slightly less-choice quotes from slightly less-exuberant Heat fans. The other downside of Herro not getting the trippy-dubby is that view counts on this video will be merely “high” instead of “stratospherically high”. I’m vain and I want this video to be in the five-digit view counts by tomorrow morning, but I’ll have to settle for four digits. Sigh.
