The legend of KOSLE (Kelly Olynyk Summer League Edition) might have died in everybody else’s hearts, but in my heart, the legend lives on forever. I was always a secret believer that KOSLE would emerge once again once Olynyk was in the proper situation, and guess what? I was right. Olynyk is on the Rockets now and averaging 18 PPG per game for them (by far a career best) because he’s one of the only players on the roster with a credible scoring pedigree in the NBA. And it’s all because of that one summer league where he was dominating defenders with slick post moves and damp as hell jumpers.

I am a bit conflicted, because Olynyk’s ability to play thirty minutes per game and score hella points in the process is negatively impacting D.J. Wilson’s ability to get minutes. However, I have come to the conclusion that I loved, and will always love, Olynyk way more than that bum D.J. Wilson, who I only ever liked ironically because he was goofy looking and played for the Bucks. My love for Olynyk is fully unironic. He looks goofy too, but in the “slacker stoner” way, and not like a sus lesbian, which is how Wilson looks.

The KOSLE era of the Rockets hasn’t resulted in wins yet, but I don’t really care about that. The Rockets could never win another game and I wouldn’t be any worse off. Meanwhile, Olynyk’s God-given ability to amass large quantities of straight-up BUCKETAGE adds significant amounts of happiness to my life. If Olynyk transforming into basically a 20 PPG per game scorer overnight comes at the expense of the Rockets fielding a roster than can consistently win games, then that’s the price we pay for getting to witness Godlynyk working over defenders night in and night out.
