The biggest Jae Crowder-related story from this game is not that he hit five triples (way cool), but that he had a Gordon Hayward-fueled meltdown on Twitter after Boston fans cheered Gordon a little too much for his liking. I think most of the tweets have been deleted now, which is a shame, because he was really going in on Boston fans.
And I agree with him. Not to the extent where I’m now open to a trade from a team that has welcomed me with open arms and given me a huge chance to succeed, but still. Hayward, wearing a Jazz uniform, is an ENEMY COMBATANT. As of right now, he is no friend of the Celtics or their fans, no matter what he did in an earlier part of his life.
Would the fans populating the old Boston Garden have done such a disgusting thing as cheering an opposing player? Of course not! Any fan caught cheering would have received a drunken beating by surrounding patrons. I bet. Maybe worse? The way Bill Simmons talks about that place and those fans, there might have been murders instead.
