I didn’t watch this game live, so when I saw Marvin Williams take a hard fall after a dunk attempt on which he got fouled (shades of Bogut vs. Stoudemire), I knew he was going to get up and score ten more points. I knew that, no matter how bad that fall looked (it looked pretty bad), W-Marv would eventually allow himself to be helped to his feet and everything would be okay.
I can only image what was going through the heads of the players and the fans when they watched W-Marv hit the hardwood and make a wet splat like an oversized black water balloon. “Is he ded?” “Dat dude totally ded.” “Heem sleepy.” “I just watched a death on live TV.” Those were probably just some of the thoughts running through the collective Charlotte and Boston fan hiveminds.
Maybe he IS dead. Did anybody check his pulse at any point? He only scored two points in the fourth quarter and by that point it was sort of looking like his body hadn’t pumped any blood for a while. Can somebody tweet him or something? I need confirmation that he’s still alive.
