Rudy Gobert 27 Points/25 Rebounds Full Highlights (1/20/2017)

Notice how I put “25 Rebounds” in the title of this vid. That’s because all 25 rebounds are depicted. Every single one, no matter how lame. That’s what “Full Highlights” are all about. Nothing is omitted. As you probably know, I don’t normally show rebounds. They’re not usually very exciting compared to points or blocks or assists. But this performance by Rudy Gobert is different: it’s the first 25-25 game of the season! That fact alone adds a whole new layer of excitement to every rebound! Well, maybe not. But here they all are anyway.

The 25-25 game has only been done 12 times, including by Rudy tonight, since 2010. In the NBA. I’m sure there are kids who average that in high school right now. But in the NBA, it’s a rare feat. It’s actually getting more common these last few years; only 6 happened between 2000 and 2010. Here’s a full list for the curious:

Dwight Howard 36-26 1/18/2016 (he had two others in 06 and 07)
Andre Drummond 29-27 8/11/2015 (everyone hates this guy now)
Andre Drummond 25-29 3/11/2015 (but he got two of these in five days)
Kenneth Faried 26-25 12/26/2014 (what)
Andre Drummond 26-26 4/11/2014 (where are the haters now)
LaMarcus Aldridge 31-25 12/12/2013
Al Jefferson 28-26 4/16/2012
Ersan Ilyasova 29-25 2/19/2012 (watched the highlights so many times)
Kevin Love 31-31 11/12/2010 (screw off Wilt)
Zach Randolph 26-26 2/27/2010
Al Jefferson 26-26 1/13/2010 (with the Timberwolves, so very long ago)

You can add Rudy Gobert to that list, a list that actually is surprising in how many not-totally-elite players are on it. I mean, I knew Ilyasova was there, but Kenneth Faried? Did I make highlights from that game? I should have. My bad if I didn’t, but these Gobert highlights are the more pressing matter. Watch them. Now. And think about if this would’ve happened if Andrew Bogut was playing.
