Kristaps Porzingis 27 Points Full Highlights (2/8/2017)

The Knicks are kind of messed up right now. Charles Oakley agrees with that assessment. So I don’t blame Kristaps Porzingis for falling into a bit of a slump; it’s hard not to get a little lethargic as an organization implodes around you. Everyone else (except Mindaugas Kuzminskas, and even he is slumping now) is underperforming, so why not underperform as well?

Unfortunately, his month of not-as-good-as-usual games has lead to his hype being significantly reduced. NBA tastes change quickly, and people have short memories; NBA fandom is definitely of the “what have you done for me lately” type. Porzingis hasn’t done much lately, so people are moving onto newer, shinier players. Does the name Nikola Jokic ring a bell? Yeah. People are saying he’s better than Krispy now. Not agreeing or disagreeing. Just passing along the information.

Hopefully these 27 points get him back on track. If he can start hitting his three-ball more consistently, he’ll be back above 20ppg on the season in no time. Maybe that’s being optimistic, but I’ve got to be optimistic for someone on that team, and it’s not going to be Marshall T-Rex Plumlee.
