Come on Miami. You’re supposed to be tanking. Why are you winning all these games? You were in such a good position for a top pick, second worst record in the league, this draft is loaded, all you had to do was ride it out and keep losing.
I guess there’s not much to be done about it without blatantly playing substandard lineups and resting players with phantom injuries. The Heat roster has some talent, talent that probably underperformed to start the season, and this is the end result. Wins. Maybe if Dion Waiters was his usual bricky chucky self instead of the ultra-clutch dime-dishing delight he is currently, there would be more losses coming down to south Florida. Can someone tell him to stop being so good?
After Paul George tantrumed his way out of this game, the Heat’s victory was assured. Everything imaginable is conspiring against their tank. Even Luke Babbitt is playing well by his standards. I can’t tell if Heat fans are pleased with the wins or displeased with the ever-worsening draft position.
