I didn’t really expect Boris “The Big Croissant” Diaw to be capable of a revenge game, but the tubby Frenchman must have had some unspent reserves of revenge residing in his glands because he just had an honest-to-god revenge game against the team that traded him last off-season. He did it in his typical slow, unathletic manner, but that doesn’t make it any less vengeful. He particularly victimized Davis Bertans, who has taken on some aspects of the role that Diaw had in San Antonio (the being big and shooting threes aspects).
Do you think Diaw and Pop hugged before the game or after? Or did they not hug at all? Did they just shake hands? Somebody who keeps an espresso machine in his locker and who eats about thirty buttery croissants per day would be more of a hugger, in my opinion. But perhaps there was so much hate between Diaw and the Spurs that Diaw didn’t even acknowledge the coach that brought him back from the dead, so to speak. I could go rewatch the entire broadcast on the lookout for clues about the exact nature of their interaction, but I can’t be bothered. Instead I will speculate in this description. That’s a lot easier.
