That was it, Hornets fans. The last chance to see your beloved team playing at home, not to be seen again until October. Nicolas Batum scored 31 on a vast array of jumpers, but it was not quite enough against a superior Celtics team. And so Buzz City sleeps, ready to buzz again come autumn. Bittersweet, isn’t it? Such high expectations for the season, and even though they weren’t met, you all still had so much fun…
I’m getting all choked up. Choked up with LAUGHTER at the mere thought of the Hornets EVER being good EVER AGAIN.
Realistically, they should have done a lot better this year, but they pretty much sucked in close games. I don’t know who to blame for that, probably because there is no one to blame; team’s records in close games are almost entirely random year-to-year. If everything stays the same in Charlotte, they’d be a good bet to make the playoffs. If players improve (sometimes players do that, I know, weird), maybe a top-5 seed? I might be being way over-optimistic because of how much I love their not-so-new-anymore rebrand. Purple and teal will remain the sickest color combo for all time.
