I think, at this point, what needs to happen is Jeanie Buss needs to go steal an armored combat vehicle from a nearby military base and drive it right through the walls of the Lakers’ locker room while the players are getting ready. She should also probably fire the turret a few times to get the players’ attention. I think that’s the only way they’re going to realize that they should be tanking right now. Maybe she should run over Julius Randle with the treads to make it clear that there will be no more screwing around. Seeing Julius’ body get crushed underneath tons of rolling metal would get the point across pretty quick.
Here’s the scoop: the Lakers just got their fourth straight win and Tyler Ennis had probably the best game of his career. The “best game of his career” part would be okay as long as they lost, but they didn’t. D’Angelo Russell had to go and hit a game-winner as time expired. That pick is as good as conveyed, bros. I’m still too lazy to figure out exactly what needs to happen for the Lakers to not have that pick anymore but I know for a fact that them winning all these games doesn’t help them in that regard.
The good news is Ennis will get paid this off-season based on his strong finish to the season. His future probably isn’t with the Lakers so he doesn’t especially care what picks they have and don’t have.
