Nemanja “Buhjellicka” Bjelica, coming into this game, was the best three-point shooter in the league. According to stats, obviously. Not, you know, the actual best three-point shooter in the league. Only a really insane Serbophile would believe that. Bjelica was 4 of 5, 80 percent, tied with Jamal Crawford and Mario Hezonja for tops among every single NBA player who has played this season.
Regretfully, by only making 4 of his 8 long-ball attempts tonight, he sent his percentage plummeting catastrophically: it now sits at a mere 61%, which isn’t even good and is actually quite bad. That’s how many I make if I’m standing by myself in an open gym, and I’m not even an NBA player.
That fact is probably why Timberwolves fans were booing so hard tonight. Because Bjelica sucks at threes now. Not because their team gave up 77 percent shooting in a half.
