Will Barton got off to a great start in this one, scoring the first nine points of the game in the span of about a minute. If you want to watch that part and then close the video and resume staring blankly at the wall, you should. He ended up doing some more stuff after that, 16 points worth of stuff, but not much in the second half and the game ended up being a semi-blowout.
Realistically, only a minute into the game is the worst time to have a nine-point lead. That’s just giving the other team way too much time to get back in it. If Barton could’ve timed it so his nine points/one minute explosion occurred at some point in the second half, that would’ve been better. Not hating or anything. Just stating facts.
Here’s another fact: Barton might end the season averaging 15 points per game, and if you told me he would do that after his cruddy rookie season, I would’ve punched you in the face and stolen your time machine so I could make things right with Jennifer.
