Things may not have worked out between Jabari Parker and the Bucks, but I don’t feel any animosity towards him at all. Maybe I did, a little bit, when he would sulk and not play defense and be jealous of Giannis’ status as the star of the team, but now? No way. I’m just happy that he can still play basketball and get paid a surprisingly large amount of money to do so.
Coincidentally, things didn’t work out between Parker and the Bulls, or Parker and the ‘Zards. But maybe things will be different in Atlanta? Chicago had some sort of illusions of him being a good player. Washington probably didn’t, but they still ditched him after only a small part of a season (probably because of his ridic 20 million dollar team option). The Hawks, though, they just want a guy who can get buckets off the bench and if he sucks, they don’t even have to bother. There’s no cap space considerations to worry about. If he can get buckets, he can play, if not, whatevs.
Early returns are promising: there is a significant amount of bucket-getting contained in this video, lots of it done in a very Jabari-esque fashion. Those ACL injuries took a while to come back from, but it looks he still has the same ability to just bully his way through the paint on the way to an effortless slam. He is looking a little chubby though. He’s always kinda looked a little chubby, and that puffy hair thing that he has doesn’t help the situation.
