Can some horrible team please just trade for Boban so that they can play him 30 minutes a night and have him be the centerpiece on offense? Please? I’m looking at the Knicks right now, and I’m seeing a whole lot of nothing. Why not give the loyal New York fans something to ironically cheer for in the form of a Serbian giant who gets buckets? Wins still wouldn’t be happening for them, but at least the innumerable losses would have a bit more entertainment value.
The problem with Marjanovic’s career to this point is that he keeps ending up on teams that want to win games. Now, maybe Marjanovic is a winning player, maybe he’s not really a winning player, but when teams want to win games, they have better things to do than force-feed Marjanovic the ball every possession. In terms of entertainment value, that would be an ideal situation, but for winning games, it’s probably not.
Tragedy struck Marjanovic’s career when he ended up on the Mavericks and they turned out to be really good without him playing hardly any minutes at all. Now there’s basically no reason to mess things up by trying to insert him into the rotation. The tragedy is lessened a bit by the fact that the Mavericks (actually mainly just Luka Doncic) are somehow so good that they’re blowing teams out occasionally , allowing Marjanovic to get some garbage-time minutes. But we’ve seen garbage-time minutes from him his whole career. I want real-time minutes!
Ignore the fact that if he actually did get traded to the Knicks, every single minute he played with them would be garbage-time just due to the fact that it’s the Knicks.
