Furkan Korkmaz 17 Points Full Highlights (2/22/2020)

Like Carlos Delfino before him, Furkan Korkmaz will forever be the guy who randomly dropped 30-plus points in two consecutive games. In fact, if you squint your eyes really tight and mess with the color calibration on your basketball-viewing device, you can totally pretend that Delfino is reincarnated on the 76ers but with a midrange game. How had I not realized the similarities before? I like Korkmaz even more now, if such a thing is even possible.

After dropping 65 points over those two games, Korkmaz was rewarded with a starting gig, and you can guess how that turned out. Actually, you don’t need to guess, because you probably already know what happened: he scored 0 points in 23 minutes, racking up only a single rebound and a single steal in terms of stats. And that was the end of the “Furkan Korkmaz starting shooting guard” experiment.

Fear not, though! If you thought that he used a ton of his mojo scoring all those points and then left none remaining for the rest of the season, think again! He can still score, in fact he led the 76ers in scoring tonight with 17 points (along with Joel “Best Player In The World” Embiid and Shake “Miltshake” Milton). He made the most buckets out of anybody on the team, which probably shouldn’t be happening for a team like Philly, but you know. He’s the only consistent shooter on the entire roster (leading the team in both three-point makes and percentage, wtf was Elton Brand doing to have so little shooting?????) so these kind of things will happen sometimes.
