Jordan “Poole Party” Poole has been racking up highlight videos like crazy since the beginning of February. If you had told me after Poole’s unfathomably inefficient month of December (11% from the field) that he was going to be making regular appearances on my channel, I would have told you that Warriors homers are not allowed to speak to me and that you should go put on your ripoff Alibaba Curry jersey and cry yourself to sleep.
If you had pressed the issue further by purporting to have knowledge from the future that showed me making five Poole videos in the month of February and at least two more in the month of March, I would have demanded to see your time machine. Being given evidence of the time machine, I would then bemoan the fact that my standards had gotten so low that I would make highlight videos for Poole even when he wasn’t playing well. I would be in complete denial of his improved quality of play because, at that point in Poole’s career, he was looking like a big nothing in the NBA.
The future is now, as they say. Poole is legitimately playing well and has been for a while. He seems to thrive in a ball-handling role that he never would have gotten if Curry hadn’t had his hand turned into osseous dust. The stats will always paint him as an inefficient rookie, but these highlight videos will remain a testament to the fact that he could play well at least some of the time.
