Trey Lyles 19 Points Full Highlights (3/6/2020)

Trey Lyles has finally started picking up the scoring, but I don’t think there’s any realistic amount of scoring he can do that will make up for the half-season (plus a few games) of not even looking at the rim that he did. If we’re talking amount an unrealistic amount of scoring, sure. If he really tried and the rest of the Spurs were dedicated to the goal, he could score 50 every game from here on out. But is that realistic? No. Not until Popovich is fired, at least.

But in the last four games, Lyles has scored 20, 20, 6 (I didn’t make vid for that one and I’m sorry), and now 19. He was even the leading scorer on the team in one of those games! That exclamation point means you’re supposed to be excited, by the way. I know it’ll be hard, but you have to find, in your depleted stores of excitement, a little bit to spare for Lyles.

Honestly, it was probably more interesting for him to be a Rodman-esque rebounding specialist than to be just another ho-hum average scorer. There are tons of those type of players, literally covering every roster in the NBA. But how many Rodmans are there floating around? Reggie Evans isn’t even in the league anymore.
