You will notice that I have put the word “steals” in the title of this highlight video. The inclusion of this forbidden word usually precedes a rant by yours truly about how steals in the NBA are meaningless because they are awarded inconsistently and often to the wrong player. A tried-and-true DTB adherent will be bracing themselves for that rant, possibly while rolling their eyes and muttering about my curmudgeonliness.
Sorry to disappoint you, friends, but no such rant will be set forth tonight.
The reason for that is simple: the steals found in this video are of a very unambiguous variety. Each one of them is clearly a steal stolen by Dejounte Murray and ONLY Dejounte Murray. Not only that, but four of the steals shown here (out of six total) lead directly to points for Murray himself. He steals the ball, and he decides that he is the one that is going to benefit from it by running all the way up the court to score. If steals are going to have to be shown in highlight videos uploaded to my channel, this is how I want them.
If you are feeling rant-deprived, I have other topics I could rant about. For example, I could rant about how that one Spurs commentator (I forget his name now) always just laughs like an idiot instead of saying something insightful. If you start paying attention to how often he just sits there and snickers, it starts to blow your mind a little bit.
