Jaren Jackson Jr. has made a ton of ridiculous threes this season (be sure to check out my preemptively-uploaded three-ilation so you can see for yourself), but the one he hit tonight with 10 seconds left to tie the game was possibly the most ridiculous of all. You’re gonna get to see it pretty soon, so I don’t need to describe it in great detail, but MAN, Rudy Gay was almost literally in his jersey. Was Jackson even able to see the rim?
His big shot was ruined by Dillon Brooks fouling DeMar DeRozan at the other end, but I don’t really blame Brooks. It’s just in his nature to foul; he’s the league leader in personal fouls this year. He was just doing what came naturally to him, and you have to live with that. Besides, I really didn’t want this game to go into overtime, since that would’ve likely meant a bigger workload for me and I’m a lazy bum.
Jackson had a slight chance to win the game with a second left, but even with his super-quick release (easy to shoot it quick when you don’t bring it above eye level), that’s not really enough time. And so the game ended in a Grizzlies loss, something that probably has some sort of implications for them making the playoffs or something. I don’t know.
