Jeremiah Martin 20 Points Full Highlights (8/5/2020)

You will have a very hard time convincing me that the NBA player supposedly named “Jeremiah Martin” is not just Jarell Martin acting under a pseudonym. I’ve already done all the research. The timelines just match up too perfectly.

Jarell Martin got waived by the Cavaliers in October, before the season even started, ending a four-year NBA career. Then, in January, some dude named Jeremiah Martin just magically appears out of nowhere to play for the Nets? Connect the dots, people. It’s obvious that Jarell spent a few months refashioning himself out of an all-consuming desire to make the NBA again. He knew that his reputation made him worthless to NBA teams, so he began a new reputation as a 6-3 guard from the fictional locale of “Memphis” instead of a 6-10 power forward from Louisiana.

Good for him, I say. He might have fooled everyone else, but he cannot fool DownToBuck, the internet’s foremost (and most attractive) gumshoe. People might say that it cannot be the same person, because of the great height difference, but never underestimate the desire of a snubbed NBA player. And just look at the facial structure. It’s the same frickin’ person, dammit.

So while others may be impressed by a rookie scoring 20 points in only his 6th NBA game, I remain only slightly impressed. Jarell managed to score 20 only once during his four-year NBA stint, so the fact that he scored 20 again so quickly is pretty cool. I don’t think he’ll do it again, considering that what he did is in serious breach of the CBA and he’s going to get blackballed from the NBA once I deposit this huge cache of documents at the secret drop-off point for one of Wojnarowski’s agents to pick up.
