It may seem hard to believe, but I’m looking at the stats right now, and I’m thinking that Derrick White is a top-25 Bubble player right now. You know, the guy who was a midget with no college prospects before magically turning into an NBA player? Now he’s magically turned from an NBA player into a really high-end NBA role-player. Maybe even… FRINGE ALL STAR????????
Okay, maybe not. But also maybe. Because everyone knows that the Spurs need an All-Star on their team, and everyone also knows that DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge are relics from the past who no longer deserve accolades of any sort. So who else would be the Spurs’ All-Star? No one else. It has to be White.
Anyway, whatever your final judgment of him, he’s been playing really well during this NBA restart. Averaging almost 20 points per game, shooting the three-ball with confidence and accuracy, and he’s paying respect to all the people who are making the bubble possible by having his hair kind of look like a bubble. Minus the transparency part.
