Sterling Brown 23 Points/5 Threes Full Highlights (8/11/2020)

I’ll be honest here, I’m not very high on Sterling Brown. I never have been. He’s shown just enough, just barely enough, of on-court potential that I don’t resent the fact that he takes up a roster spot. His shooting has declined so much this season, however, that I do get upset when he is inserted into games that actually matter. His tunnel-vision drives and unreliable shooting are an unwelcome diversion from the otherwise efficient team play that the Bucks usually display.

So color me surprised when Brown kept taking shots in this game…and they kept going in. Usually he just shoots a lot and misses a lot. Sure, the Wizards are the one team currently left in The Bubb who would let a player like Sterling Brown get hot, but I have to give Brown the props he is owed; he is the one who took advantage of the situation and ended up with the second-highest-scoring game of his career. The Wizards don’t play any defense and their current roster is a bunch of cast-offs, but Brown is somewhat of a cast-off himself (ignoring the fact that he hasn’t actually been cast off any teams yet) so I think his 23 points is still an impressive feat.

Now please don’t give him any minutes in the playoffs.
