If you forgot that Tyler Cook played for the Nuggets last season, I don’t blame you. I absolutely still think you’re a dirty casual who should GTFO the frick off my channel, but I don’t blame you for being a dirty casual. He got signed by them to play in the Bubble, which still doesn’t exactly feel like it really happened. And he didn’t really do much with them. I guess he was insurance for Bol Bol getting injured? Or something? He only appeared in two games for them, then one in the playoffs. Even the last game of the “regular” season, he only played 16 minutes. That’s normally the time when the fringiest fringesters of the NBA get to play a ton, but apparently he wasn’t worthy of even that low reward.

What I’m trying to say here, is that this is totally a REVENGE GAME for Cook. Revenge against the team that wanted him, but not so badly that they would actually give him minutes (*clip of Will Smith saying “how come he don’t want me man” while crying). The Nuggets had him, wasted his talents, and now he’s balling out* in Detroit.

*Balling out in this context is used rather loosely; while it’s true that his stint in Detroit has led to by far his best stretch as a pro, he remains a generally uninspiring player even when he is making statistical contributions.

And we shouldn’t have to go over this point, but it bears repeating: REVENGE GAMES can happen even if the revenge doesn’t result in the W. In this case, Cook could’ve scored 40 and it wouldn’t have made a difference; Detroit is tanking ultra super-duper mega hard, so hard that one player can’t do anything to stop the never-ending torrent of L’s.
