Another day, another under-appreciated Milwaukee Bucks star. As with Jack SICKma, there are only the meagerest of highlights available for this dude, the venerable Vin Baker. Talk to any Milwaukee resident, one who was actually supporting their team during this time and not just bandwagoning the Bulls, about the original Vinsanity, and they will say that he was just about the best power-forward the Bucks ever had. They might be overstating the matter, in the manner of a homer, but he was pretty damn good.
Sure, his stats were inflated by the amount of minutes he played, and sure, he had a crippling alcohol problem that was swept under the rug for years until it caused his undoing, but come on. Where are the highlights? If I had put up 20 points a game a couple times and made four straight All-Star Game appearances, I’d be mad as heck if there weren’t endless highlight reels showcasing my former dominance.
