Just a few days ago I would have been really hyped for Doug McDermott scoring 20 points and throwing down a huge whamjam. Really hyped. One of the highlights of the year for me, possibly.
Circumstances around Dougie McBuckets have changed. He has scored 30 points in an NBA game; anything less than 25 feels like a disappointment at this point. Maybe not disappointment, even. Just, like, who cares? We’ve seen what he can do, and we want to see him surpass that. He’s dunking with such regularity that I’m not even going to put “/1 Dunk” in the title. That’s how far he has come.
How much longer is Jimmy Butler out? If Doug wants to put up some mondo scoring performances, he’d better get going right away. His 20 ppg average over the last few games is a great start, considering that he’d never reached that mark in a single game before that point, but as I said, we need to see more. More Dougie. More McBuckets. More everything.
