Reggie Bullock scored sixteen points in a game earlier this season, and in the immediate aftermath, found himself presented with more minutes than he knew what to do with. He continued to play solidly, but as February turned to March, SVG started dialing back the minutes until Bullock was again receiving DNP’s.
Then he got 27 minutes in this game. Totally makes sense. If I was managing a rotation of players that’s exactly how I’d do it, except it would be forty minutes and I would tell Steve Blake to flush himself down the toilet.
I’m still not totally convinced that Bullock will have a particularly long or notable NBA career, but this is the kind of game that lights a candle of hope in the murky darkness of scrubdom. Hopefully Bullock can grab hold of that candle and set himself on fire with it. I think that’s how that metaphor is supposed to go. The murky darkness would be a lot less murky and dark if Bullock’s body was on fire. That’s what I’m trying to say.
