Apparently Lance Stephenson was a real hot-shot in high school. All time leading scorer in the state of New York. But it seems like the flashy guards who are dominant in high school never really pan out in the NBA. And it certainly seemed like Stephenson wasn’t going to pan out either, as his first two years in the league were pretty bad.
But he’s been not just okay, rather he’s been actually good this year. It makes me so happy to not have to call him a bust. And now he’s scored a career high in the arena he grew up idolizing as a kid. With visions of Willis Reed and Patrick Ewing dancing in his head, he unleashed a torrent of threes and dunks.
