Xavier Henry was the twelfth pick in the 2010 NBA draft. He has never averaged more than five points a game, or shot better than 41% from the field. There’s a word for those players. Burst? Blust? It’s something like that.
But it’s a new season, and the X-Man is in a new situation, so just forget everything you knew about him. Inconsistent midrange game? No outside shot? Average defender? Poor free-throw shooter? No. None of that stuff applies anymore. With Kobe Bryant out for the rest of eternity, somebody on the Lakers has to put the orange in the basket, and it sure as hell isn’t going to be Wes Johnson.
The age of the X-Man has dawned, and let me tell you, it’s glorious.
