Another occasion where an individual all-time single-game record is in reach and the player in question doesn’t even get it. Seems to be happening a lot recently. The only reason I watch the NBA is because eventually someone will score 101 and I don’t want to miss it. In this case it’s the single-game three pointers made record, and the player is Trevor Ariza
I’m tired of seeing Donyell Marshall’s name for this record. Tired of it. That guy sucked. Trevor Ariza may not be the greatest ever but at least he’s better than that droopy-eyed loser.
Still, 10 threes is pretty good. 7 in a single quarter is also pretty good. But, I reiterate, I don’t want pretty good. I want all-time great. There’s an old adage that says “records are made to be broken”. The arbiters of the English language should convene and change that phrase to “single-game three-point records are made to be broken by Trevor Ariza”. He had a whole quarter with which to make a mere 2 threes. Nope. Not happening. God damn it.
