Kent “Bazed God” Bazemore seems to be enjoying the change of scenery in LA, scoring a career-high fifteen points in his first outing donning the Lakers’ purple and gold.
A Steve Blake for Bazed God/Mar$wag Brooks trade, on the surface, doesn’t seem to be a trade that affects either team’s destiny too much, but a lot of people forget one important aspect:
The Lakers already have renowned bench-celebrator Robert Sacre. Bazemore carved out a similar role for himself riding the pine in Golden State. What kind of over-the-top, awkward-but-funny celebrations will result from the synthesis of these two players’ different celebratory styles?
Sacre’s ninja moves alongside Bazemore’s body wiggles? That would be awesome by itself. But when these two guys realize that there is now an opportunity for synchronized performances, we will be treated to some heretofore unimagined celebrations. The NBA has truly entered a golden age of scrubs going nuts whenever a shot goes in.
(I just called up my bro Adam Silver to see if we could ignore the trade deadline and do a Kobe-for-Patty Mills swap, but he laughed at me and said something about “basketball reasons”. Oh well, my body would never have been able to handle that much towel-waving)
