Roy Hibbert has seen fewer touches and a lesser role in the Pacers offense this year. The Pacers (probably rightly) assume that having the ball in Paul George’s or Lance Stephenson’s hands will be better for everybody.
The upshot of this is that Hibbert takes any shot he can get in the post. And if he gets the ball anywhere near the rim, off a rebound or whatever, you can guarantee that it’s going back up. He’ll just fling it with either hand. “Oh I’m 7-2 and I’m near the rim this is supposed to be my forte” he thinks as he chucks an off-balance lefty abomination.
But his offensive inadequacy hasn’t transferred to his defense, which is amazing as ever. He only had two blocks against the Bucks, but he altered many more shots. He also hit a bunch of shots that he normally misses against Milwaukee’s lackluster interior D. Watching Henson try to guard him was kind of sad.
