Taj Gibson, having been shown the ways of womanizing and chauvinism, was a reformed man. No longer obsessed with the cheerleader Caroline, whose body had been defiled in vile ways by Mike Dunleavy’s “Man Sauce”, he freely and frequently bedded all manner of hot women. He even garnered a reputation among his teammates for being the most sex-obsessed person in the locker room, a man whose stamina in bed could not be rivaled.
However, not all was as good as outward appearances would indicate. The carnal pleasures of Taj’s body were well-sated indeed, but the more tender desires of his heart were left unsatisfied. He found that he did desire companionship, a lasting connection.
This he kept secret from his friends, for he knew that they would mock his sentimentality. After games he would rudely proposition women, speaking crassly and belligerently to maintain his reputation. He knew that he was alienating the women around him, but he saw no other way to go about things. It especially hurt him to act this way with the cheerleader Tracy, who was certainly the most beautiful cheerleader on the team. How Taj wished that she might see around his manly facade, down to the kind-hearted romantic beneath, a romantic for whom true love was the only desire.
Such a thing would never happen. He was doomed to loneliness despite his sexual conquests often numbering ten in a week. This was the path he had chosen, and there would not be another fork in the road.
