Jorge Gutierrez 10 Points Full Highlights (3/21/2014)

With Gustavo Ayon out for the rest of forever due to drinking the water in Mexico, Mexican NBA fans need a new object to direct their nationalistic fervor upon.

Is that object Jorge Gutierrez?

Yes. There’s no other choice. Mexican nationalistic fervor is renowned for being very intense. If it is not released onto Mexican sportsmen then who knows what will happen. Riots in the streets. Women crying the words “I want to follow the NBA but there is no person who was born in the same country as me for me to root for!”.

So is he any good? I don’t know yet. Haven’t seen a lot of him in the NBA. No one has. He was presumably a good/great player in college but that doesn’t mean much at this level. His D-League stats weren’t super impressive. But he’s in the NBA, so how bad could he be? I guess if I had to describe him in one sentence, that sentence would be “Looked better with long hair, like a frickin’ Aztec warrior who would sacrifice you to Huitzilopochtli without a second thought.”
