Gerald Henderson is what would happen if you took a player to one of those advanced stats summits, and implanted a device in his ear that replaced every occurrence of the term “three-pointer” and changed it to “long two”.
That’s his game. That’s how he scores. He has shown the ability to shoot and make a fair amount of threes, and his three-point rate is actually higher than ever. That does not change the fact that what he loves to most of all is shoot pull-up long two-pointers. Sure, sometimes he takes it to the rack and jams with ferocity, but, again, that’s not his bread and margarine.
And I love it. MJ has taught him well.
