Man, some of the assists are just total BS. Not trying to hate on Spencer Dinwiddie here, he played a great game. It’s not his fault the scorekeepers got happy fingers and handed out assists like the Pistons have to hand out tickets to home games. But damn. I’m surprised they didn’t give some to the refs for putting the ball in play.
As I said, though, Spencer played a fine game, 12 and 5/6 is good for a guy making his first career start. His trajectory so far this year has been up and down (actually just down pretty much), with him shooting a frigid 29% from the field and 13% from three. You would think a guy with those numbers would choose the path of caution and not jack up a three early in the shot clock without even glancing at a teammate.
And you would think wrong. He did the same thing in the last highlights I made of him. Is that why he doesn’t get minutes? He must have watched too much Jennings.
