If there was any justice in this wretched world (there isn’t), Josh Smith would have airballed all of the threes that he took in this game. That would have been fair because he should get punished for taking them in the playoffs when the games actually matter. And he should get punished doubly because it was the Rockets’ chance to send the Mavs crying into the offseason. Instead, he made four of five, and the one miss was actually pretty close.
The only fair thing about the whole sitch was that the Rockets did lose the game. Josh Smith’s improbable prowess from behind the arc only served to improve his stats. I can sleep peacefully at night knowing that impressive statistical performances from Josh Smith only occasionally lead to team success.
