Timofey Mozgov Career High 28 Points Full Highlights (6/11/2015)

Yeah, yeah, Timofey Mozgov gets a career high, Warriors tie the Finals at two apiece, whatever. Nobody cares. There’s bigger things to talk about.

I’m talking about the Ersan Ilyasova trade if you couldn’t figure it out.

Honestly, DTB is not too bummed about this development. From a basketball standpoint, Ilyasova was never going to fit with Jabari and Giannis going forward. Caron “C-Butt” Butler and Shawne “Where’s LeBron” Williams are not a great return, but it does help the Bucks’ salary situation.

Personally, I was never actually a huge fan of the Turk Dirk, even though I featured his image prominently across all of my promotional materials. The simple fact is, Ilyasova has a funny-looking face. It was funny to put sunglasses on it as a joke. It was so funny that I just ran with it. As a player, Ilyasova could hit threes some of the time, could rebound some of the time, and dunk none of the time. When his shot wasn’t falling, he tanked our offense. I liked him, but not more than any other Bucks role-player.

So, to answer your inevitable question: no. I am not going to be a Pistons fan now.

With the Bucks doing a rebrand, I knew I would have to do one soon as well. Even if Ilyasova hadn’t gotten traded, I might have dropped him anyway. My only regret is that I never got him to do a shoutout that I could put at the beginning of all my vids GD/Jamal Crawford style. Of course he would have to wear the sunglasses if he were to do it.

So Timofey Mozgov gets his career high. The Warriors’ small-ball worked, even if Mozgov turned into Mozgod for 48 minutes. That’s what this channel will always be about, Ilyasova or no Ilyasova.
