It’s time to ask some pointed questions about the Bucks defense, after they gave up an average of 120 points to two Eastern Conference teams. Namely, where the heck is it?
I’ll give you the answer: it’s in Dallas, with Zaza Pachulia, and it’s in Washington, with Jared Dudley. A smaller amount resides with Ersan Ilyasova in Detroit.
Just the departure of a few not-even-that-good vets doesn’t tell the whole story, though. I don’t want to put the whole blame on Greg Monroe for not being a rim protector. That would be incorrect and hasty of me. The real reason for the Bucks’ lack of defense? Greivis Vasquez.
Screw Greivis Vasquez. We gave up a 1st ROUND PICK for him. Why? So he can let Ramon Sessions torch him repeatedly?
At least the offense looks decent enough, after suffering through some grim offensive teams the last few years, ball movement is a sight for sore eyes. Greg has provided the advertised post play, and has shown some good passing ability as well. Just the thing after “stone hands” Sanders and “stone everything” Pachulia.
