Dennis Schröder 22 Points Full Highlights (11/18/2015)

Is it just me or is Dennis Schröder dialing his own number a lot more this year? And if he is, is that a good thing or a bad thing? There is a reason that I’m not a widely respected basketball pundit, because I just don’t know in this case.

Scoring points is good, for sure. Most of the time, more points = more wins. You definitely don’t want to discourage a young player from attempting to score points. Not at all. That much I know, unless that player is Antoine Walker, in which case you nudge him towards crocheting or some other benign hobby.

Dennis, however, also happens to be what is known as a “point guard”. Despite the name, that doesn’t mean that he should be trying to score points all the time. He also has to pass the ball to other teammates on the court, so that they can attempt to score points. Ideally, his passes would be so good that his comrades don’t even have to try that hard to score. That is the goal.

As you can see, a balance must be struck. But I don’t know if Dennis is striking that balance or not. How do I even figure something like that out? Watching something other than highlights? That sounds like a lot of work.
