I’m pretty sure Stacey King just spent the entire broadcast talking about Nikola Mirotic “punishing” C.J. Miles. Like, the whole damn thing, whenever Nikola was in the game. I get that the Bulls should have maybe exploited the matchup advantage more heavily, but was it as simple as just passing the ball to Nikola every possesion and letting him do his thing? No. Even Shaq couldn’t handle that, and he was a walking mismatch machine.
Number one rule of sports commentating is: never talk about the same subject for the duration of the contest. At some point you have to talk about other parts of the game. In this case, something like the score, or players besides Miles, Mirotic and someone named “Free Cheese”.
Number two rule of sports commentating: no swearing, no, not even once. That one got me canned from my gig calling high-school girl’s basketball games. It was a slip of the tongue you fucking control freaks.
