For a while there, it was looking like Will Barton was running away with the Sixth Man of the Year award race. He’s been in a bit of a slump lately, so the door is now open for Ryan Anderson to come on strong and take it from The People’s Champ.
17 points per game isn’t a ton for winning the award, true, but this guy can consistently hit a Dirk-esque stepback fadeaway jumper. Who else in the league (besides Dirk himself) can make that claim? A player who can perform such a shot deserves to have some sort of an end-of-year award. MVP, ROTY, 6MOY, FMVP, hell, make one up if need be, just make sure that Ryno has some hardware to stare at while he watches the playoffs from his couch.
