Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 20 Points Full Highlights (2/8/2016)

Last time I was at the gym, just shooting buckets, I decided I would conduct some scientific research. Scientific research in the form of trying to replicate Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s borked shooting motion. I’d watched enough clips of it in action to know how to do it: instead of keeping my right elbow nice and straight, just jettison it way to the left, so that my view of the hoop was obstructed by my arm.

Verdict: it wasn’t so bad! Not my usual reign of terror from midrange, but pretty decent. Not unworkable, by any means. I can totally see how a player who spent their whole life shooting that way could find some measure of success with it.

Still, I wouldn’t watch this dude if you’re a young player just figuring out your own personal shooting motion. Like, you shouldn’t even watch Hornets games in that case, lest you become corrupted. Despite my limited success with his ridiculous elbow angles, there is no question that Kidd-Gilchrist wouldn’t be a way better player if he had a reasonable jumper.
