Wayne “Beef W” Ellington has been dead for a long time. A long, long time. He was dead while he was on the Nets, and then he went to the Heat where he continued being dead for all of training camp, preseason, and a bunch of the regular season.
Now he’s alive again! I don’t know what happened there, but I’m sure whoever made it happen is now eligible for sainthood in the Catholic tradition.
Not only is Beef W alive, he’s alive and looking pretty good at taking three-point shots coming off screens! Is this a J.J. Redick video? Because that’s what it looks like, aside from the dunk, which, although it might be the crappiest dunk of the year, is way better than anything Redick could hope to pull off. Not joking here. This dunk, located conveniently at the beginning of the video so you can get it out of the way, is right up there with the least powerful slams of all time.
The threes, though, those are great; He truly “made it Wayne” for the first time with heat. They really make the whole video, a perfect tribute for the newfound aliveness of Ellington.
