Andre Roberson 13 Points Full Highlights (12/4/2016)

Is Andre Roberson the next Nick Collison? I don’t mean in terms of play style or position, since they’re obviously very different players, but I mean in terms of being that guy who stays on one team for his whole career just for being a good role player who doesn’t demand the ball or whine about anything. Roberson’s been on the Thunder for four years now and we know pretty much what he’ll be unless he develops his three-point shot even further, but never once has there been any indication that the Thunder want to move on from him.

I used to think that the Thunder would be way better if they had a decent swingman (i.e. not Andre Roberson). Now, I’m not so sure. If they had somebody better, that somebody still wouldn’t get to shoot very much because Westbrook takes all the shots. Then that somebody would get testy about their lack of scoring opportunities and cause problems in the locker room. Meanwhile, Roberson would be perfectly happy if he never again had any kind of scoring opportunity, so he’s the perfect fit next to Westbrook.

So if we check back in ten years and Roberson is still on the Thunder, none of us should be surprised. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised if Collison was still on the bench too. That dude is immortal.
