Some great camera work in this one. Dario Saric hits a late-game bucket to tie the game, and instead of showing him celebrating with teammates, they switch to a shot of the only 76ers fan they could find in Memphis. He looks happy, he’s cheering, that’s fine, until they panmed over to a couple of Grizzlies fans looking sad (almost despondent) and just kept the camera there.
Is this an appropriate time to say “no chill”?
The 76ers ended up losing anyway, a fitting end for an organization who would so blatantly taunt opposing fans. They didn’t score after Saric’s clutch hoop, because their primary offensive threat in this game was Ersan Ilyasova. Dario had a good enough game, hitting some threes in defiance of the pre-draft scouting writeups. Also in defiance of prior thinking, he notched 0 assists despite being touted as an excellent playmaker.
I think I’m going to let this game define my entire view of Dario: I think a good comparison would be… Antoine Walker? Yes. Sounds good to me.
