This video only exists because there are a million bandwagon Warriors fans who want to prove their devotion to their team by knowing the names and games of the Warriors’ end-of-bench players, a group which Patrick McCaw is a part of. Now those bandwagoners can watch this video and say “I really like Steph Curry and Kevin Durant but I also think Patrick McCaw has a lot of potential to be bench threat for the Warriors.” By demonstrating knowledge of obscure NBA players, the bandwagoners hope that they can evade detection and blend in with real Warriors fans.
I am taking advantage of these bandwagon fans’ bandwagoniness by planting this trap for them to fall into. Some genuine Warriors fans might be caught in the crossfire. That’s okay. Sacrifices have to be made when you’re trying to expose a whole class of fans who switch their allegiance to whatever team happens to be most successful at the current moment.
