This is now the third separate stint for Leandro Barbosa on the Suns. What is it about that organization that they are so desperately nostalgic for players that were around during their glory years in the mid 00’s? They also went out and got Jared Dudley so they could pretend that everything was the same as before. Barbosa is still a good player in his own right, and is likely to be a contributor on and off the court, but it’s still a little weird how much they seem to be living in the past.
Here’s a hint to the Suns upper brass: there is still no Steve Nash on this roster. There is also no Amar’e Stoudemire. T.J. Tucker might be Raja Bell but that’s it. And Devin Booker might be the new Leandro Barbosa, meaning there are two Leandro Barbosas on the roster.
By the way, who should I talk to about this clear, salty liquid that keeps dripping out of my eyes? It’s getting really distracting, and it happens every time I think about those D’Antoni Suns teams.
