Thaddeus Young just set a career high for three pointers made in a game. That’s cool. Good for him. The interesting thing is, looking at his game log, every game where he made either four or five threes, his team lost.
Most of those games came during a stretch where The Mad Thadder was the featured guy on some bad 76ers teams (I hate Michael Carter-Williams. Just a reminder). In the 2013-14 season he scored eighteen points per game and shot more threes than perhaps he was comfortable with, but that was because there was nobody else on the team to help him out, so he got do whatever he wanted. Now, he’s on a team where he’s anywhere between the second and fifth best player on any given night (it depends on whether Monta shows up, usually he doesn’t), so he only has to take shots that he’s comfortable with.
Why stop at six though? Next game I want to see seven. Seven or eight. If that were to happen I think we would see Young turn into a three-point specialist for the rest of the season so he and C.J. Miles can chuck threes all game. Don’t try to tell me that you wouldn’t enjoy watching that. You lie. Stop lying you liar. It would be like a budget version of the Warriors.
