In my not-very-humble-at-all opinion, Mason Plumlee should not be allowed to shoot jumpers in-game. Ever. You will see a few successful attempts in this video, but they are vastly outnumbered by the jumpers you didn’t see because they didn’t go in.
Here’s a truth bomb for you: Mason’s free throw looks like absolute garbage. Just total trash. The only part where it looks like it might go in is when he’s just holding the ball and sizing up the rim. His one-handed line-drive flick does not work at the free throw line so why would he think that it would work in a game? Does Terry Stotts allow his player to shoot these ugly bricks at the rim as a form of stealth tanking?
I honestly don’t care that Mason was only four steals away from a 5×5. That doesn’t matter when your jumpshot form is so borked up. Six assists from a center? Cool, except it’s not because whenever I watch him try to score outside of the paint I randomly start puking everywhere. It’s that gross.
